พิธีกรรมบูชาเจ้าบ่าวน้อยแห่งเขาควนสูง ตำบลทุ่งใหญ่ อำเภอหาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา

Abstract

งานวิจัยเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพิธีกรรมในการบูชาเจ้าบ่าวน้อยของชุมชนพรุเตาะ ตำบลทุ่งใหญ่ อำเภอหาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับกลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นชาวพรุเตาะหมู่ที่ 4 และหมู่ที่ 5 มีทั้งผู้อาวุโสและวัยทำงาน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในอดีตชาวพรุเตาะมีความเชื่อและความศรัทธาในเจ้าบ่าวน้อยว่าคือเทวดาซึ่งถือเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของหมู่บ้านที่สิงสถิตอยู่ในต้นไม้บนเขาควนสูง ในแต่ละปีชาวพรุเตาะได้จัดพิธีกรรมในการบูชาเจ้าบ่าวน้อย โดยร่วมแรงร่วมใจกันเดินทางขึ้นไปบวงสรวงเจ้าบ่าวน้อยบนเขาควนสูง ด้วยความเชื่อว่าเจ้าบ่าวน้อยสามารถดลบันดาลให้ฝนตกเพื่อสร้างความอุดมสมบูรณ์ให้กับผลิตผลทางการเกษตรกรรม นอกจากนี้ยังบนบานให้เจ้าบ่าวน้อยคุ้มครองความปลอดภัย ช่วยแก้ไขปัญหาและอุปสรรคต่างๆ เมื่อวันเวลาผ่านไปผู้อาวุโสของหมู่บ้านไร้เรี่ยวแรงในการเดินทางขึ้นเขาควนสูงและบางส่วนถึงแก่กรรม ทำให้ขาดแกนนำในการจัดพิธีกรรมดังกล่าว ประกอบกับสภาวะความทันสมัยที่สอดแทรกเบียดขับวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นให้เลือนลางไป คนรุ่นใหม่จึงไม่มีโอกาสได้เห็นพิธีกรรมบูชาเจ้าบ่าวน้อยแบบดั้งเดิม แต่ได้ปรับเปลี่ยนให้เหมาะกับชีวิตประจำวันในยุคโลกาภิวัฒน์

This study aims to explore the ritual of paying respect to Chao Bao Noi of Phru To Communnity in Thung Yai Sub-district, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The data of this qualitative study were collected through in-depth interviews with the elderly and working age locals of Phru To of Moo. 4 and Moo. 5. The study found that in the past, Phru To locals had faith in Chao Bao Noi and believed that he was a sacred god of the villages who dwelled in the tree on Khuan Sung Hill. Each year Phru To locals organized a ceremony to pay respect to Chao Bao Noi by getting together to walk up the hill to pay respect to him because they believed that Chao Bao Noi could make it rain to make land fertile and yield a lot of agricultural crops. In addition, they made vows asking Chao Bao Noi to protect them, make them safe, help them solve problems and eliminate obstacles. As time passed by, some of the elderly in the villages were not strong enough to walk up the hill any longer while others passed away resulting in no core leaders to organize the ceremony. In addition, modernization has come in and gradually made local culture fade away. Consequently, the new generation has no chance to see the ritual of paying respect to Chao Bao Noi. Even though the ritual of paying respect to Chao Bao Noi cannot be reproduced in its original form any more, adaptation has been made to make it suitable for life in the age of globalization.
